Pickpic & Cono Karaoke

Definitely a great pick for a good karaoke session!

We always find ourselves heading to Shoreditch for yet another activity to enjoy, which is appropriate since it is the creative hub of London. This time, we were there to sing our hearts out in Pickpic, a Korean-style photo booth and karaoke place.

At first glance, the shop looks like any other K-styled photo booth place you can find in most areas of London.

However, there is a set of stairs that lead down to the karaoke rooms, a totally unexpected feature.

They offer walk-in karaoke sessions, which cost from £5 (10min)-£30 (1 hour), depending on how long you plan to sing.

Yet, we booked our appointment earlier on their website, which offers several worthwhile package deals.

We opted for the couple package, an ideal one for two people as there were only two of us. This package is £34 and comes with an hour of karaoke and a set of free photos that you can take at their photo booth upstairs.

However, even if you choose this package, you are allowed to have up to six people with you.

We first went down to karaoke, and the room was really cozy and small, with a spacious sitting area. The small room is perfect for a small group of friends to go crazy or a solo date without feeling the emptiness around. The room is equipped with a karaoke machine, with mics and the remote control, a book of songs, and air-conditioning, perfect for summertime!

We found the remote control quite hard to use as there were so many buttons and were more or less in Korean, even though the staff had explained how to use it.

The book of songs was also mostly in Korean, so it wasn’t of much use to us. It was obvious from the search list on the screen that the machine offers a range of songs, from Korean to Chinese to English songs.

The room is also equipped with a small tripod so that you can prop your phone up to record your superstar moments.

What we liked about this karaoke is that they grade you with a score after every song you sing!

After a good riff-off, our time was up, so we headed upstairs for our photo booth session. We went with the high-angle style as we thought it was a unique point of view from the regular ones.

There are several props that you can choose from to make the photo experience more fun and there a dresser where you can touch up your makeup, either with your own or the provided ones there.

We found this package to be worth because the usual price for the photo booth is £6 or £8, depending on the size of the picture.

It was a good way to commemorate a fun evening with your friends and we definitely would recommend it to anyone who loves good ol’ karaoke.
