Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before. At 7 pm every night, you can join a salsa class. The classes cater to both beginner and more experienced dancers.
Check their website for more details on the times and prices. Some nights, there is a second class at 8:30 p.m., and classes on some nights are free!
You can check their Instagram for details on upcoming events, as some nights focus on specific styles such as bachata, rueda de casino, kizomba, semba, zouk, kompa, timba and cubaton.
After the class ends, the floor naturally turns into a social. Don’t feel too shy to ask someone to dance, even if you’re a complete beginner! Meeting new people is part of the fun of it.
The night we went to Bar Salsa Soho, we saw a free salsa dance performance by a salsa dance troupe. In the middle of the night, there was also a fun and easy-to-follow line dance.
Tip: If you are a seasoned salsa dancer, you may find the Temple branch more up your alley rather than the Soho branch as it tends to have more high-level dancers. However, as a beginner, you can still enjoy both locations.
