Where Cocktails Meet Bauhaus Inspiration

In the heart of London's vibrant Kingsland Road, nestled amongst the eclectic mix of shops and eateries, lies a bar inspired by the Bauhaus style. Aptly named "Shapes," this establishment, ranked 35 in the world's best 50 bars, boasts a unique identity far beyond its enigmatic name. From the moment you step through the door, Shapes captivates with its understated elegance and minimalist design. The bar's design honors the principles of the Bauhaus art movement, featuring sleek lines, geometric forms, and subtle colors that evoke a feeling of enduring elegance.

But Bauhaus influences more than just the decor; its spirit is infused into Shapes' very essence. The team’s cocktail menu and staff’s uniform reflect the movement’s minimalistic and geometric energy. Each drink is a masterpiece in its own right, blending unexpected flavors and textures to create a symphony for the senses.

Take, for instance, vodka blended with yogurt or gin infused with spice—this spectrum of inventive mixology provides customers with a diverse array of flavors to tickle their palates. particularly enjoy indulging in the nibbles and food at this bar. It's quite rare to find a bar in London that offers a food menu, which I find somewhat disappointing because as one enjoys their drinks, hunger often creeps in. However, the Iberico ham sandwich at this establishment is just what one needs to stave off hunger caused by alcohol consumption without the worry of overeating and potential discomfort. Moreover, it's incredibly delicious.
